Waltonwood Logo Additional care services will be provided by Aware Senior Care to residents at Waltonwood Lake Boone, a senior living community coming soon to Raleigh.

Tim Murray joins the Board of Directors for Dementia Alliance of NC

Dementia Alliance of NC Logo The President and Co-Founder of Aware Senior Care, Tim Murray, was elected to the Dementia Alliance of NC Board of Directors in July.

“Tim brings the strength of both professional – and personal – experience with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease to our board,” said Lanier Cansler, Chairman of the Board for the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina. “His knowledge of dementia, relationships with key people and organizations in elder care in our community, and compassion for families affected by this disease will be a great asset to our board, and we are thrilled to have him join us!”

That’s why we started our Circle of Support, a list of trusted and vetted individuals who provide the resources and care our clients need.

This month’s featured Circle of Support Partner is Lyn Jackson, founder of Every Story Media, a boutique production company that helps individuals and families save and share their values, traditions, and unique life stories on video. Lyn is an award-winning journalist, former television news reporter, anchor, and documentary producer.

Gina and I met Lyn a little over three years ago and we were so moved by her story and the positive impact she and her husband David have on families that we decided to give it a try ourselves. We looked at it this way—our clients, with open hearts and minds, allow complete strangers (Aware caregivers) to come into their homes to care for them. This is a very personal business, so we wanted our families to get to know us. What is our story? Why did we start Aware and what are our values?
