We Are Still Growing!

We’re pleased to announce that as of June 12, 2017, The Department of Health and Human Services approved the addition of Nursing Services to our home care license. This significant milestone - which allows us to administer medications, wound care, and IV’s - enables us to better serve all of our families, whether they are at home or in communities with nurse care.

What families are saying

Aware Senior Care Circle of Support
That’s why we started our Circle of Support, a list of trusted and vetted individuals who provide the resources and care our clients need.

This month’s featured Circle of Support Partner is Pooja Chilukuri, whose goal is to help individuals lead fuller lives by making healthful lifestyle choices. Chilukuri owns a wellness company, Pausknick , which includes the Agewise 50+ Program, designed to prevent and control degenerative aging processes. Chilukuri believes that “the food we eat is ultimately linked to the quality of our life.” To jumpstart your own nutritional knowledge, read Chilukuri’s blog about the 5 R’s of eating healthy.

Our clients are lucky to work with people like Pooja, and so are we!
Caring for the Elderly – Dealing with Resistance
What is the best way to communicate with a loved one about his or her need for care? How do you handle it when your loved one is resistant to even starting the conversation?

Sons, daughters, and friends often see that a loved one needs help before the loved one sees it himself. Tim Murray, co-founder of Aware, clearly remembers trying to start this dialogue with his mother and step-father. The response he heard most often? “We’re fine.” Even when they clearly weren’t. Sound familiar?

Read More for tips from Tim and Gina Murray (and the Mayo Clinic Staff!) on the best way to approach this important conversation, and how to handle resistance from loved ones who need help.
