Welcome to our monthly selection of resources and inspiration.
This newsletter is designed to help you help your loved ones live well at home.

At Aware, we’re all in this together.
What’s New with Aware?
VCP Vendor

Aware Senior Care has partnered with The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); we are now a Veterans Choice Program (VCP) Vendor!

Since our founding, we’ve had the privilege of serving veterans. This year, we aimed to become Medicaid certified and to become an approved member of the VA’s Veterans Choice Program (Medicaid certification is a requirement to qualify for the VCP). We have now achieved both of those goals! As a veteran-owned company, we’re honored to contract directly with the VA for home care services, further expanding our support for those who have served our country.

Sarah Beargie
Happy Two Year Anniversary to Sarah Beargie!

As our Staff Coordinator, Sarah is responsible for working with our families and scheduling their time with our wonderful caregivers. Initially a wonderful caregiver herself, Sarah was soon recognized at Aware for her tremendous people skills and her amazing ability to match the right caregiver to the right family (we call this her “beautiful mind”). Sarah has continued to grow in her role at Aware, even while working full time to complete her Degree in Nursing at Wake Tech. Well done, Sarah! We love having you on our team!

Aware Senior Care Circle of Support
That’s why we started our Circle of Support , a list of trusted and vetted individuals who provide the resources and care our clients need.

This month’s Circle of Support Partner is Silver Linings for Seniors . Along with her team, Founder Ann Marie Sochia’s mission is to provide exceptional counseling that enables people to live life as independently as possible and to live life to the fullest - physically, emotionally, and socially. We’ve had the privilege to know Silver Linings since 2014 and have partnered with them in many educational seminars, including a TweetChat about dealing with a senior’s resistance to care. We have frequently sought this organization’s council when helping clients who are facing difficult decisions or are struggling to accept senior care and/or the possibility of leaving home. We love their tagline, “We’re here for you,” because we know it to be true.
