Meet The Team

Gina Murray

Gina Murray

Founder and Director

A registered nurse and a graduate of the Villanova University School of Nursing, Gina has spent more than 30 years in the field of gerontology. She spent over 15 years at one of the top skilled nursing facilities in our region, serving as a supervisor, Nurse Manager, and Assistant Director of Nursing. She also worked for Hospice of Wake County and was instrumental in the opening and management of the first inpatient hospice facility in our area. As founder and director of Aware Senior Care, Gina brings a very personal perspective to her role. Having cared for both parents as they struggled with illness and home care needs, she confronted the same sense of guilt and confusion faced by so many looking at options for their aging loved ones. She is both an experienced care professional and a compassionate guide through the many choices available to families.

Tim Murray

Tim Murray

Founder and President

Managing the business aspects of Aware Senior Care, Tim is an alumnus of the Villanova University School of Engineering. He served our country as a U.S. Navy Submarine Officer, and spent much of his career as an executive in the technology industry. His vision for an in-home care organization stems from the struggles following his own father’s stroke and time in a nursing facility. That experience led Tim to ensure his mother could stay in her home, despite difficulties with memory loss and household maintenance. Tim’s intimate understanding of the stresses of a loved one’s need for independence makes him uniquely qualified to recruit only the best caregivers and manage the day-to-day operations at Aware Senior Care.

Patricia "Trish" Lombardo

RN Supervisor

Trish began her career in healthcare as an Ultrasonographer obtaining her certification in White Plains, New York and then moving with her husband and then two year old daughter, (Deirdre) to Florida where she worked as an Ultrasound Technician.  Trish then had two more children, Desiree and Donnie and decided that they were the most important job. While raising her children, Trish became a committed volunteer in her childrens’ school as a PTO secretary and active participant in the Read Across America initiative where she provided reading and assistance to high risk learners. At that time Trish was also a Sunday school teacher and regular lectern at her church. Trish was also an active participant/donator/guardian for Catholic Charities organization which assists the poorest children around the world to obtain an education, food and clothing. Also during this time Trish began her journey back to school to obtain a degree in Associates of Arts and Associates in Science.

Trish then graduated from Keiser University School of Nursing when her last two children were in high school where she was hired at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, Florida straight from her clinical experience from Keiser. At Doctors Trish was trained as the nurse she always dreamed of as a child. It was then that Trish was truly exposed to the need of the seniors, their health issues and their vulnerabilities. It was working as a float nurse on many different units such as orthopedic, med-surg, oncology and pre-op and finally in case management that the skills of nursing and compassion became a passionate vocation.

North Carolina became home to Trish and her husband Steve when Steve accepted a position of Assistant Principal at Green Hope Elementary right here in Cary! At that time a Home health Nurse Case Manager working in the senior communities and their homes was the next chapter in Trish’s nursing vocation as well as finishing up her BSN at Chamberlain University. It was working in this environment that Trish met Gina And Tim.  Aware Senior Care became a bright light in working with seniors in the healthcare industry and that is how Trish found a new home for her nursing! Nursing with Aware Senior Care is where caregiving, compassion and a smile for our Seniors feel perfect!

Dan Kastner

Client Care Coordinator

As our newest member of the team, Dan will be stepping into the role of care coordination alongside Sarah Beargie.  His background in healthcare began as a teenager as he personally cared for his mother who struggles with a rare blood disorder. This experience, along with working and volunteering in several different Assisted Living communities, solidified his passion for the healthcare industry and helping others at an early age.

Shortly after graduating from James Madison University with a Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration, Dan joined a non-profit Medicaid insurance company, but his passion for closer relationships with clients made him decide to go back to working at the bedside in senior care. During his time in both memory care and independent living settings, he gained invaluable experience as a personal caregiver and with managing medications. Dan is very excited to join the Aware team and to use his experience to help match Aware client's with the exceptional caregiving staff.
